A short History

1995: Our site in Essex, UK has been home to an engineering services company since 1995 when Rousch Technologies was created as the UK arm of Roush Industries, the engineering company founded by legendary American racing engineer Jack Roush. The company established a key supplier base of outsourced engineering, calibration and build support to Ford Motor Company at their nearby Dunton Technical Centre, and to other UK vehicle OEMs.
2004: Rousch Industries acquired control of Mountune, one of the UK’s best-known performance engineering and motorsport companies, expanding their portfolio beyond Ford motorsport and World Rally Championship to other motorsport applications and engine development programmes.
2007: A management buyout of Rousch Technologies saw the formation of Revolve Technologies, with a renewed focus on engineering consultancy and product development support including prototyping and test services, but to a wider range of sectors which including Defence, Agriculture, Advanced Propulsion, Commercial Vehicles and Rail.
Research projects in advanced propulsion led to the formation of UlemCo in 2014, whose mission is to commercialise the companies patented hydrogen dual-fuel engine conversion technology as a transitional step in the use of hydrogen for transport and heavy-duty equipment decarbonisation.
2017: A world-first passenger ferry conversion (Hydroville) commissioned by the shipping group CMB, was launched by Revolve Technologies in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges utilising marine diesel engines converted to hydrogen dual-fuel. This was the start of our push to decarbonise the maritime sector which was continued under CMB (below).
2019: CMB acquired Revolve technologies and re-branded to CMB.TECH. Over the next 7 years, engine development partnerships were formed with Everllence (formerly MAN), Volvo Penta and ABC Engines, with calibration services completed at our Brentwood site delivering certified hydrogen engines to market for marine and industrial applications. 4x further dual-fuel hydrogen powered vessels were delivered to CMB.TECH, and 6x industrial/on-road applications were delivered as part of engine launch testing within the EU.
2026: A management buyout of the engineering part of CMB.TECH was concluded in May 2026, with ownership of the company transferring to Paul Turner and the company re-branding to PJT Low Carbon Tech. We continue to deliver marine solutions to CMB.TECH, and remain at the forefront of decarbonisation, automation and powertrain development across a range of sectors.
